    Haunts & Follies

    EXHIBITION DATES:
    Saturday, 4 August 2012 - Sunday, 16 September 2012

Artists Charles Avery (UK), Penny Byrne, Sam Leach,
Simon Mee, Kate Rohde. Curator Simon Mee

This show investigates the link between life, art, decoration and buildings and will feature new works around a series of real and fantastical spaces with a haunted quality. The artists’ use of decoration, figures and design contain poetic metaphors about humanity and its fears, dreams and desires. This poetry is not about flowers and sunshine but the poetry of “poetes maudit” or accursed poets. These artists are ghost-busters of the subconscious, hunting out the locked closed, bricked up room and the funny smell coming from the blocked chimney.
