I am interested in interstitial spaces. These are the gaps
that exist between different places or states. The objects and
environments or scenes I create are examples of these gaps; they
could be a corridor, apartment, a model garage or a truck.
In these works original environments are transformed into
constructed spaces by combining the real world with elements of
film design. Real sites and people are used with stage sets,
props and models. The interaction between the real and the
non-real gives these environments a new identity.
My work references film noir and the way people inhabit and
use their city. I place emphasis on the moods these places evoke.
