The Haunted and the Bad4 July - 10 August 2008 Yhonnie SCARCE Alcoholism has been a hereditary disease in my family for three generations, since it was initially introduced to my grandparents in the 1940s. This work represents each grandparent, parent, aunty, uncle, cousin, and sister who has become consumed by the 'bottle'. Each bottle contains a body symbolising the hazardous control it has on each individual and how it has been 'passed' down to each family member. Crosses on selected labels represent each family member who has died as a result of this devastating illness.
