Build the skills

Linden New Art works in partnership with the University of Melbourne and the Helen MacPherson Smith Trust to deliver a bespoke internship and professional development program to build the skills and knowledge of the next generation of arts managers and emerging leaders.

Participants are guided through a series of sessions to increase their knowledge and awareness of a contemporary art space. Participants learn from leading arts industry leaders who share their own expertise and knowledge. At the end of the sessions, students are invited to submit a proposal to present an exhibition in the Linden Projects Space the following year.

“It felt pretty special and very, very unique. Even within the course you’d sometimes get guests coming in to talk but not such a high calibre of professionals speaking about their particular fields.”
Participant, 2020 program

Students from the Masters of Arts Management and Masters of Arts Curatorship program are selected to participate in this hands on program where they learn from industry leaders. Up to 20 students can participate each year.

The program is evaluated by Dr Jody Evans, Associate Professor of Marketing, Melbourne Business School.
