Postal Party Packs

We know that seeing your favourite people via a screen is not ideal, but here are some ways to make it a bit more fun. Take turns to play party host, source the contents of your party packs, and send them to your guests. You might even want to prepare a prize for the grand winner to send physically or digitally after the party.

Let the games begin!

Pictionary

Choose a book on your shelf or use this random word generator.

One person on your team is designated to be the first person to draw a picture of whatever random Pictionary word is generated. Once they see the word, they have 5 seconds to think before they begin to draw. Once they begin drawing, they have 1 minute to try to get their partner to guess the random word. If the partner succeeds in guessing the correct word being drawn, the team gets a point, but they get zero points if they don't. Team two does the same thing, then the person drawing is switched for round two. After a designated number of rounds, the team with the most points wins. The winners get to eat their treats from the party pack.

Psych!

If you've ever played Balderdash, you'll get the gist. Join the game remotely with your friends, choose from a number of categories, and start making up fake answers. You're encouraged to fib. Fun! Basically, you'll fabricate fake answers to real trivia questions and your pals will have to guess what's real. The objective is to trick them into choosing yours. You'll score points for guessing the right answer and for psyching your friends into guessing yours. Requires a minimum of two players.

Heads Up! via Houseparty

Instead of downloading the regular Heads Up! app, you'll need Houseparty, which, in case you haven't already been using it for your virtual happy hours, is a group video chat service. In essence, the game is a modern spin on charades and can be used as an add-on to your call. This way you don't even need a separate FaceTime set-up, you can play and chat and drink all in one place.

FUN for all!

Whose ____ is that?

Match the objects to the person! Each player is sent prompts ahead of the game (by the host) to take photos of objects around the house that they then share with the group. The player who matches the correct object/person the most times, wins!

Prompts:

Whose fridge contents are these?

Whose plant is that?

Whose bookshelf is that?

Whose artwork is that?

... plus any others the host can think of!
