Ned Kelly mask

Be ready for the masquerade with Jacqui Stockdale. Create a simple Ned Kelly mask and customise it!

Materials needed

Cardboard (80cm x 90cm)
Masking tape
Stanley knife
Cutting board
Pencil
Paint or markers for decoration

Step 1

Use a stanley knife and cutting board, cut your cardboard to 40cm x 90cm in size. Roll it together tightly and release. Save the rest of the cardboard.

Step 2

Shape a cylinder and place it over your head. Make a pencil mark on the cardboard roughly where your eyes are positioned. Then, measure the cylinder to your desired size. Remove and make a pencil mark for the correct size.

Step 3

Draw a rectangle shape roughly 5cm x 15cm where you made a pencil mark for the eyes.

Step 4

Cut the shape out with a stanley knife and cutting board.

Step 5

Here's what it should have now. Almost there!
Use the masking tape to hold the cylinder together on the pencil mark you made.

Step 6

Place the cylinder on top of the left over piece of cardboard and use a pencil to trace the inside of the cylinder. Cut out the shape you've made with the stanley knife and cutting board.
