Please join us this NAIDOC week for an Emu Egg painting workshop. You will learn the story of Barraeemal (The Emu) in BoonWurrung Culture. The different traditional uses of Emus and the part they play in recognising the changing BoonWurrung seasons. 

Emu eggs are delicate so this workshop is appropriate for children 8-10 (with adult help) and 11-16 tweens/teens. 

Cost to attend is free, but bookings are required to assist with materials and resourcing.

Bio

Amber is a proud BoonWurrung young woman who was born and raised by the bay. Amber is an artist and dancer who learns and performs with BoonWurrung Ngargee Youth Dance. Amber has participated in workshops at Linden including Brave Young Artists, was part of establishing the Children’s week Gallery Sleepover and was on the Kid's Consultative Committee for over 3 years. Amber also won a Sculptural Encouragement Award in the Linden Postcard Show 2024 and won an award in the Koorie Heritage Trust- Young Mob-Koorie Art Show in 2025.
