Join Naarm/Melbourne-based artists Helvi Apted, Britt Salt, and Shannon Slee for an interactive workshop where you'll create a 20 x 20 cm
textile artwork using simple stitching techniques and repurposed fabric. After a guided tour of their current exhibition Textile
(Inter)action,
the artists will show you how to creatively reuse salvaged materials to explore colour, composition, and geometry.
What you'll get:
-
Hands-on instruction with materials provided, including fabric scraps in "Odd" and "Geometric" shapes, felt bases, sewing needles, and
embroidery thread.
- Visual guides on how to master three basic stitches.
- Your very own textile work to take home!
This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone interested in giving new life to discarded materials.
