Take the monster challenge!

Can you make a monster or superhero from paper? Think about a kind of monster or superhero who does only good things in your world. We are going to make a monster or superhero from paper, and we’re going to make it in under 10 minutes.

Step 1

You can make the body by twisting, cutting, ripping and crumpling the paper to make a shape

You can make the body 3D, like this crumpled paper

You can draw on the body or cover it with one colour

Step 2

You can make flat shapes to make a flat monster

To make a shape, draw the shape on your paper and cut it out

Here are 2 drawings of shapes to attach to the body piece

They are cut out and ready to be attached

Step 3

Draw on your cut out shapes or colour them in. You can also leave them blank

Remember that you can make any shapes that you like. You can twist, cut, rip and crumple the paper into shape.

We have made small shoes for my superhero that we can attach to the body next

Step 4

Attach your shapes or other pieces to the body to make your monster or superhero

We have attached wild feathers on the head and wings on the back

Step 5

This is our final paper monster superhero!

This creation floats between the window and curtains at night while we sleep. They warm the air, keeping the cool breeze outside, helping you to stay warm inside. That’s a handy superpower!

Here’s a monster made by the Artist Vipoo Srivilasa. We hope our examples give you great ideas to make your own monster superhero

Vipoo is a master monster-maker, and we invite you to visit the gallery to see his work soon

We would love to see your creations!

Take a photo of your creation first and upload it to this page. Happy making!
