Linden Creates > Textile Assemblage with Shannon Slee

-
Rear Linden New Art, 26 Acland Street St Kilda VIC 3182

Join us for a creative crafternoon at this interactive textile assemblage workshop led by textile artist Shannon Slee.

At the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to produce their own hand-stitched art forms, under the mentored guidance of Shannon Slee whose work explores how fabric can carry memory and experience, finding new life in old scraps. This workshop is presented as part of the exhibition Material Remains, which includes Shannon Slee’s own textile assemblage Quilt for Ansett Flights South (2022), now showing in the Linden Projects Space until 6 August.

Participants will be required to bring 6-8 pieces of fabric, perhaps from discarded clothing, items of sentimental value, or leftovers from the sewing box. Pins, needles, fabric scissors, and embroidery thread will be provided. Everyone is welcome, no prior experience needed.
