JUNCTURE ART PRIZE 2024

We are proud to celebrate Vittoria Di Stefano and Shivanjani Lal as the inaugural recipients of the JUNCTURE Art Prize, awarded in 2024.

This major initiative is a key part of Linden’s commitment to supporting mid-career artists, encouraging bold ideas and critical conversations that spark meaningful change — for both artists and audiences. Each recipient received a $20,000 cash prize to support the development of ambitious new work, culminating in solo exhibitions at Linden in 2024.

Vittoria Di Stefano presented a new sculptural installation that investigated the intersection between domestic space, the body, and the psyche. Her site-responsive approach engaged directly with Linden’s architecture, drawing out the layered histories of the building through intimate and immersive works.

Shivanjani Lal developed a deeply considered body of work using collage, textile and printmaking to examine the legacy of Indentured Labour in Fiji, and its mirrored histories in the South Sea Islander community in Queensland. Her exhibition explored Australia’s role in the Pacific while imagining possible futures shaped by resilience, memory, and hope.
